The Film Studies Program offers excellent undergraduate teaching of cinema and its social and cultural significance. Through both critical studies and cultural events, the program fosters faculty and student scholarship, research, and creative work. With its line-up of film scholars from different departments across campus, the program includes courses on many areas of world cinema and fosters interdisciplinary perspectives on the culture of cinema. The interdisciplinary Film Studies Program combines interests in film and culture across the departments of Art History and Archaeology, English, German and Russian Studies, Romance Languages and Literatures, and Theatre.
The major in Film Studies (B.A. Degree) will become official in Spring Semester 2010. If you are interested in finding out more about the program please email us.
